Welcome to the school year 2018-2019! We hope it will be one of great accomplishments for all of us. As you may have noticed, we’re already enjoying the renovation of our school cafeteria facilities under the administration of Mejor Gusto. It’s a local company who has experience in the food service industry since 2002. Mejor Gusto is run by Raúl Gómez and Gabriela Torres.
Raúl Gómez is a Culinary Arts and Food and Beverage Management professor at the Universidad del Este. He has an associate’s degree in Culinary Arts, bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management and is currently working on his doctoral degree in Project Management. Raúl is also a Certified ServeSafe© Protocol instructor.
Gabriela Torres has an associate’s degree in Culinary Arts, a bachelor’s degree in Culinary Management and a master’s degree in Education. Her work experiences include Integrated Service Coordinator at Universidad del Turabo, Activities Coordinator at The Embassy Suites - Dorado, and Trainer Supervisor at Starbucks.
Payment options
The cafeteria will have the Payforit system in place as soon as possible. Since it is a new account, it takes a while to get things sorted. In the meantime, the following options are available:
Leave cash for your kids so they can pay themselves.
Parents can go personally to any of the cashiers in the Cafeteria and allocate an amount in the system for their child to use. (Payments with ATM and/or Credit Card are available with a minimum of $5.00)
The Cafeteria menu has been revised by the Department of Education in order to comply with the health standards established for school children. To get an idea of the choices and costs of food, you can visit the CAFETERIA tab on the upper menu of this site.
